“I have too many games!” ~Said No One Ever.
As I sat trying to decide what to write about, I decided to comb through my game collection for inspiration. I currently have at least 3 shelving units full of board games, card games, and miniature games. And those 3 shelves are OVERFLOWING.
So it begs the question…is there such thing as too many games? My wife would tell you yes, yes there is. And I have well exceeded that. However, I think the answer really depends on your life style, what games you have, and how many other hobbies you have. Cause let’s face it, gaming ain’t cheap.
For someone who collects games, they have to have them all. Over the years I have known people that buy every game and never get to play half of them. I’m more of what I consider an ADD gamer. I fall in love with a game, buy everything I could possibly need to play that game, and then in a few months or less I find something new. There are of course a few exceptions of games I have played for a long time or hope to play for a long time.
So what happens to all those old games? Well for the most part, they sit on the shelf. Occasionally I’ll find the desire to sell a few off, but that’s mostly to fund my habit of buying a new game. Other games or miniatures have “sentimental” value and I just can’t bring myself to part with them.
How many games do you have on your shelf? If you never play them, why do you keep them?
