In this blog I will share my over flowing knowledge of gundam models, making them, where to buy them, and the supplies.

So to start off gundam models or gunpla are plastic model kits made in Japan. They come in different sizes and many different colors. Some people paint them others like to leave them and apply the stickers. I personally like to paint them and use stickers as a last resort. I buy my gundam models from gundam planet mostly and other places like eBay. I’ve spent on gundam models 200 dollars in like 20 minutes. Gundam planet carries gundams from different eras of the show even the really popular gundam wing series that premiered on toonami. They sell the paints as well if you want to customize the gundam model you bought . They recently just came out with a airbrush  gundam marker kit. It takes the gundam markers you own and you can air brush the model kit with ease. The gundam markers come in packs or you can buy a certain color separate. I’ve read a things that show how to manage the runners. Runners are what the piece for the gundam model kit come on it’s a rectangle shaped of plastic it’s usually multiple colors on it. Some solid some are clear colors. I get my supplies from gundam planet and Sally’s beauty supplies. From Sally’s beauty supplies I buy nail filers because of the bugs you get when you clip the pieces off of the runners you can sand it down and polish it so it’s nice and smooth again. Assembly is sort of a pain in the ass but it’s fun to build these models. The model kits come with a booklet that has the Instructions in them as well as a little diagram of the runners and clip art from the show the gundam is from. The manual shows you step by step which pieces go where and how to assemble them. Using this I still mess up because the pictures are usually for left and right sides and I build the wrong side. eBay is another good place to buy gundam model kits third-party kits usually disappear or go up super high in price on eBay. They also have metal build model kits it’s a already put together gundam or mobile suit and it’s metal parts and weapons. Some websites sell things for storage of model kits like glass cases and bins for paints. Amazon sells model building kits. They come with a couple sanders ,a xacto knife, plastic snipers, and polish cloth. I recommend a cutting board from a local hobbies shop so you can see the pieces of you drop one. Some parts are really small so be careful not to drop them. I build my gundams in the bottom half of the box so I can see the parts I drop. A good way to store runners for your models are file holders from somewhere like Wal-Mart so you can pick up runners and put it back with out searching for the specific one. If you focus on building a gundam it should usually take a day to build one gundam model. There are different size as I said before .the sizes are 1/144 high-grade and real grade, 1/100 master grade ,1/60 perfect grade, 1/48 mega size. The high grades aren’t really to detailed but are  accurate to the show .  Real grade are the same size is high-grade book more articulate and detailed.  Mastery grade is about 7 inches tall and comes with multiple action poses and are usually very possible some even light up if they come with an LED unit .Perfect grade models are usually very tall and very heavy the boxes are usually very big some are transformable depending on what Gundam  series it is from. Hope this little gundam knowledge helps you out . It’s a nice community as well people are friendly in it. End of line fellow nerds from smooth bob
